OUR STORY

Where the great grey-green Limpopo bends

Tolile — a Tswana word meaning “I have found it” — sits on a dramatic bend in the Limpopo River in the heart of Limpopo Province, South Africa. This family-owned safari lodge has been managed across three generations, guided by professional hunters who have spent lifetimes learning every fold of this ancient landscape.

The Limpopo forms the northern boundary — on the opposite bank, Botswana begins. Hippos and crocodiles surface at dawn. Fish Eagles cry at dusk. The African sun ignites the river copper and gold. Tolile is where hunters become storytellers.

“You too will say — Tolile. I have found it. I have found the place I have been looking for.”

WHAT WE OFFER

Crafted Experiences

From the moment you decide to visit Tolile, every detail is taken care of. We arrange airport shuttle transfers from Johannesburg or Polokwane, or you can arrive in style directly on our private airstrip — large enough to accommodate light aircraft and private charter flights. Once at the safari lodge, days are shaped entirely around your desires: early-morning game walks as the mist rises off the Limpopo, guided game drives across the bushveld, sundowners on the open plains as the sky turns amber, and unhurried bush dining by firelight under a canopy of southern stars. We cater equally to dedicated hunters, photographic safari guests, birders, and leisure travellers — every experience crafted to the individual.

REST AND RETREAT

The Suites & Chalets

Four individually designed suites in the main lodge, each with views of the Limpopo River, plus four Garden Chalets set in manicured grounds — all recently renovated, each with en-suite shower. Combining luxury hospitality with the raw atmosphere of the African bush.
