LIMPOPO PLAINS GAME HUNTING

Limpopo Plains Game Hunting at Tolilé Lodge

11,000+ Acres · 40+ Species · One Property on the Limpopo River

Tolilé Lodge is a private, family-owned safari lodge on the Limpopo River near Rooibokkraal, in South Africa’s Limpopo Province. Plains game hunts for kudu, sable, impala, wildebeest, zebra and 40+ other species run on our own 11,000+ acre property, guided by outfitter and professional hunter Collin van Vliet. 2027 plains game packages start at $4,700 for seven days, and the area is malaria free.

SOUGHT-AFTER TROPHIES

Colour Variants, Kudu and Sable

Alongside classic plains game, the property holds colour variants that are hard to find together in one place, including golden wildebeest, black impala and golden oryx. Many hunters also come for Limpopo kudu and sable.

Every species is priced per animal on our price list, or bundled into a 2027 package.

THE HUNT

Fair-Chase Plains Game, On Foot

Plains game hunting at Tolilé Lodge is fair chase, across 11,000+ acres of Limpopo bushveld. Hunting revenue funds anti-poaching and habitat management on the reserve. You’ll hunt with Collin van Vliet and an experienced tracking team, mostly spotting and stalking on foot. Depending on the species, a hunt can start right at the lodge or a short drive away, all on the same property.

SEASON & CONDITIONS

When to Hunt

Hunting season at Tolilé Lodge runs April through November, the dry season, when thinned bush and cooler weather make for easier tracking. Mornings and evenings are cool — near freezing in June and July — with warm, dry days in between. See Best Time to Visit Limpopo for month-by-month detail.

2027 PACKAGES

RIFLE & TROPHIES

Your Rifle, and Getting Trophies Home

Bring your own rifle with a temporary South African firearm import permit, or hire one at the lodge — rifle rental is $45/day, with ammunition from $8/round depending on caliber. Up to 200 rounds per firearm/caliber are allowed into South Africa. No separate hunting license is needed: you hunt under our registered outfitter and PH, and we arrange the provincial permits.

After the hunt, our skinners field-prepare your trophies and deliver them to the taxidermist or dip-and-pack facility. From there they are treated, crated and shipped with the export permits (including CITES where the species needs it) and cleared by US Fish & Wildlife on arrival. Most trophies reach home in 6–9 months. Read How to Import Your African Hunting Trophy into the USA.
